Lieutenant Colonel Jim Washburn

    Lieutenant Colonel Washburn's undergraduate degree in Agricultural Business Management is from California Polytechnic State University. His M.S. degree is from Florida Institute of Technology in Acquisition Logistics Management and he is a DAWAI Level III acquisition professional in Program Management.  He has held command assignments as a Captain and as a Major.
     Following completion of the Logistics Officer Course in 1990, he was assigned to the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Engineers and deployed to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Desert Storm.  Upon redeployment to the United States, he was assigned to the 1st Marine Division.  He served the next six years in maintenance management and logistics billets with the 11th Marines artillery regiment and the School of Infantry.  Following career level school at the Army's Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course, he was transferred to Marine Forces Pacific, Hawaii.
     Lieutenant Colonel Washburn held various logistics billets on the Commanding Generals' staff before transferring to 3rd Combat Service Support Group on the windward side of Oahu.  He served as commanding officer of Landing Support Company and as commanding officer of Maintenance Company.  In 2000 he was transferred to Darwin, Australia to serve as the Marine Forces Pacific Liaison Officer to the Australian Northern Command.
     Returning to the United States in 2002, he was transferred to Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), Quantico, Virginia.  Assigned to the Program Manager, Motor Transport, he served as Project Officer and Vehicle Armor Team Lead.  He deployed to Al Taqaddum, Iraq in 2005 to serve as Officer-In-Charge of the Marine Armor Installation Site.  Returning to MCSC, he served concurrently as Operations Officer and Vehicle Armor Team Lead.
     In July 2006, Lieutenant Colonel Washburn was transferred to HQMC, Deputy Commandant Installations and Logistics.  He served as both the Sustainment Team Lead (LPC-2) and the Maintenance Team Lead (LPC-1) before transferring to his current assignment, Deputy Joint Base Commander Ft. Myer - Henderson Hall in March 2009.
     Lieutenant Colonel Washburn's personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
